Company earns repeat recognition for its leadership in tackling livestock methane emissions with scalable feed-additive solution
Henderson, Nevada, USA – March 25, 2025 – CH4 Global, the maker of an innovative seaweed-based feed additive that reduces methane emissions in cattle, has been named one of America’s Top GreenTech Companies by TIME magazine for the second consecutive year.
The annual list, compiled by TIME in collaboration with market research firm Statista, celebrates companies that are advancing the green economy through sustainability, innovation, and measurable environmental impact. CH4 Global’s inclusion in the 2025 ranking highlights the company’s continued progress in scaling Methane Tamer™, its Asparagopsis-based feed additive, which reduces enteric methane emissions from cattle by up to 90 percent.
Methane from cattle, sheep, and other ruminants is a major contributor to climate change – responsible for nearly a third of global methane emissions – and reducing it is one of the fastest ways to slow global warming.
“This recognition by TIME magazine for the second year running underscores the urgency of tackling livestock methane emissions and the effectiveness of our solution at scale,” said Dr. Steve Meller, CEO of CH4 Global. “The momentum behind our solution is building, and we are on course to deliver gigaton-scale climate impact within the next decade by making methane reduction practical, affordable, and widely accessible.”
Earlier this year, CH4 Global began production at the world’s first commercial-scale facility for growing Asparagopsis, marking a major step forward in making seaweed-based methane reduction accessible and economically viable for the global livestock industry. This expansion comes as CH4 Global accelerates the global adoption of Methane Tamer™ through key strategic partnerships, including with Chipotle Restaurant Group, Mitsubishi of Japan, and Indian agrochemical producer UPL.
